Review | GSC: Saber Triumphant Excalibur

Greetings comrades! Today, we will review Good Smile Company’s 1/7th scale figure rendition of Saber from Fate Stay Night. I had been waiting for this figure since its original release late last year because I never really preordered her (because I’m saving some $$$ lols). When I finally decided to order her online, she was already sold out ~x(. (Lesson learned…). After asking some of the figure retailers here at our place, one of them told me they still have it at their shop and there’s only 1 left! I told them to reserve it for me and then finally bought it the day after :).

So much for my boring story there, let’s now take a closer look at Saber \m/.

The proud and loyal knight.

From the upcoming movie of ‘Fate/Stay night’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the main heroine thought to be the strongest servant, Saber!

Striking down with her treasured sword ‘Excalibur’, Saber has been posed in a breathtakingly dynamic position, as she strikes down on her foes – showing not only her valiant side, but also bringing out her beautiful figure.

Two separate swords are included: the standard Excalibur, as well as ‘Invisible Air’, which makes use of clear plastic to truly make it seem more like an invisible sword. The swords can be exchanged whenever you feel like a change, allowing you to enjoy this Saber in even more ways!

A 2d illustration of Saber holding the Caliburn sword.

This Saber figure has a pretty dynamic pose.

She’s currently holding the “Invisible Air” sword.

Overall figure sculpt is very well done.

According to GSC site, this figure was based from the Fate Stay Night movie which I haven’t watched yet.

GSC really planned this figure out. Weight distribution was well balanced.

Because of the figure’s wide angled pose, It really eats a lot of space.

Sculpt is very accurate. From clothing to armor plating.

Saber is wearing pants so no panty shots on this one :P.

This figure is quite big and heavy for a 1/7 scale.

How I wish all figures have dynamic poses like Saber in this figure.

Some wide angled shot focused on her “Invisible Air” sword.

Saber is so pretty even in different facial expressions.

Realism is portrayed by this perfectly executed paint work.

Armor plating looks so real.

Love the sculpt and paintwork on this area.

The shadings on the armor and clothing adds to the overall realism of the figure.

A swirl of energy enveloping the sword.

The sword and the energy are actually made up of translucent material.

The only support the figure has and its still very stable. Weight distribution is a crucial part of figure manufacturing.

Fate Stay Night embossed logo on the base.

Figure comes with 2 interchangeable swords. This one is the Excalibur, the default sword that Saber uses.

Excalibur sword was 100% accurately sculpted based from the original anime.

Base has some withering effects too that adds to the overall impact of the figure.

Showing the translucent material of the sword and the swirl of energy around it.

Used Ryomou (will review her soon!) as the backdrop to show the translucency of the material used in the sword.
