I rarely pickup figures in our local post office since most of my figures gets delivered right in front of my doorsteps – but what happened with my new figures from Vertex were a different case. Early 2012 and mid 2013, Vertex announced 2 new Evangelion figures of Asuka and Rei which are both scaled 1/6. As an avid Evangelion fan, I preordered both. They’re pretty expensive so I really did save some cash while waiting for their official release date. Fast forward December 2013, postman then rang and gave me this card saying that my shipment has arrived.

Drived myself to the post office that very same day and I was really surprised when the post office guy handed me the package – the boxes are freaking HUGE!. While clearing the shipment for release, post office guy can’t help but ask what’s inside the 2 big boxes. He even tried to guess it and actually told me it’s a “portable refrigerator” from Japan haha! I then loaded the 2 big boxes inside my car and headed back to my office in excitement to unbox it. Had a hard time driving since the boxes totally covered my car’s rear window > < Below are some snaps of my unboxing session.

Unboxing Asuka. Aside from the external shipment box, actual box of the figure is also enclosed inside a protective plastic bag.

Figure’s box is tightly fitted inside and had a hard time getting it out. Don’t want to destroy the external box since I want to use it for container purposes.
