Hot Toys recently unveiled their new series of 1/6th scale figures called the “Power Pose Series”. It’s basically a “statue” version of their standard 1/6th scale articulated figures. Most of the reactions about this new series announcement by Hot Toys were negative stating that they should leave the statues to Kotobukiya and Sideshow.
The figure still looks great since they can focus all of the figure’s detailing process without any of the design limitations present on articulated figures. Figure contains all the “light-up” feature that is present on Hot Toys’ standard 1/6 articulated figures. It also comes with replaceable parts for additional display options.
Slated for Q2 2013 with a price of USD165.00.

I also read a lot of the negative complaints on the Hot Toys US facebook page. I don’t know why people feel angry about the new series. If Sideshow Collectibles can make 1/6 action figures and statues without people complaining then Hot Toys should be able to do the same. Hot Toys making more types of figures is a good thing.
@Andrew: I agree with you. A lot of people think Hot Toys is “milking” there customers by re-releasing figures under a new “series name”. I think this move by HT is for customers who are more interested in statues rather than articulated figures. And it all comes down to business in my opinion. They need to somewhat compete with other manufacturers so customers/collectors have more options when purchasing figures.
