Kantai Collection – Kongou

I just learned about Kantai Collection earlier this year since I kept on seeing figures based from it. Kantai Collection is basically an online card game featuring cute girls dressed as Japanese battleships.

Good Smile Company already announced their first (correct me if I’m wrong here) “Kan Colle” figure – Shimakaze and now Max Factory is doing the same by announcing the 1/8th scale figure rendition of Kongou. Figure looks really good and I love Kongou’s facial expression. Slated later this year September 2014, ¥13,704.

Her designer was the British naval engineer George Thurston, and she was laid down in 1911 at Barrow-in-Furness in Britain by Vickers Shipbuilding Company. Kongō was the last Japanese capital ship constructed outside Japan. She was formally commissioned in 1913, and patrolled off the Chinese coast during World War I.

I’ve spent a few days to get in the game, what a hassle X<
At least I can buy the figure without silly lottery.
It's a really pretty figure, I love her dress so much (。⌒∇⌒)。

Haha! Haven’t tried the game myself but based on what I’m hearing from friends, game’s kinda good. And yeah – Kan Colle characters are very well designed that they look super great when transformed into a scale figure.
