I posted not long ago my plans on getting into Hot Toys figures as part of my ever growing collection. As you all know, my main focus was to collect anime figures and statues. Getting my hands dirty with Hot Toys doesn’t mean I’ll change my collection and go Hot Toys all the way. NO, I’ll only get figures from Hot Toys that i really want (like figures from their Ironman series) and still continue with my original collection.

I also stated on my not so long ago post that It will start with the Ironman Mark V figure. Unfortunately, I’m wrong :)) because it will start with this super incredible 1/6th limited edition action figure of Ironman Mark VI.

Ill try to make the texts content in this photo review as short as possible since I know some of you guys gets easily bored when reading.

Let’s  get it on! \m/

Yesterday, I received my shipment containing 2 of the most iconic characters in the Ironman 2  film. I’m really amazed on how the figures were sculpted, the attention to detail, the paint work. The figures were absolutely INCREDIBLE!

Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (1)
Mark VI comes with a bunch of armor accessories. I used the damaged one because it looks more kickass!
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (2)
Since the figure is still new, I’m having a hard time posing him since I’m afraid I might break something. Most of the joints are still stiff and a bit hard to move.

There are tons of moving parts in this figure. Even the armor’s concealed weapons are included. I actually have a few shots of the armor’s gadgetry. Read on.

Really love those air flaps on his back.

Another thing worth mentioning is the overall paint work of the figure. You will really think that the figure is made out of titanium alloy just like in the movies. Beware though because the glossy paint is a finger print magnet.

The mechanism on the feet are also incredible. This is the first time I saw a figure with advanced movement mechanisms like this.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (16)
I actually changed his biceps armor into the damaged one. Most of the replaceable parts are all magnet powered. Some of them are snap fit. I also changed his arm with this cool anti personnel missiles.

Attention to detail is so great, even minor paint scratches are visible to portray the natural look of the armor.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (19)
Finger movement mechanism is also advanced. You can basically move each finger and is composed of 3 seperate joints for movement. Thumb can also be moved and can be rotated 360 degrees. A fully articulated hand. How’s that?
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (20)
Head sculpt is the exact same replica from the movie’s Mark VI. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. The mask can also be retracted upwards. The eyes light up too.

A closer look at the insides of his new arc reactor.

Legs are also articulated. Its mechanism is the same with the other parts. It is divided into 3 movable parts for more control specially in posing the figure.

Some micro details of weathering effects.

Fully deployed air flaps.

The screws you are seeing are the battery compartments for the light up function of his eyes, his arc reactor, and his repulsors on both hands.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (26)
The grills on his air flaps are actually made out of metal.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (27)
Fully deployed thrusters on the back of his legs.

Mask retracted. And here’s Tony Stark’s face.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (33)
Does it look like Robert Downey Jr? And I just noticed that he has a bruise on the right side of his cheek.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (34)
Pretty epic look on his face + the mechanical details of the head.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (35)
Hmmm… overexposed shot.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (36)
This is the armors counter measures canister that he uses when he’s being engaged by enemy projectiles such as missiles. I think it deploys flares. Yeah, the figure also functions the same way. Just press and move counter clockwise…. and…..
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (37)
There, counter measures canister fully deployed.

Some lighting experimentations.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (39)
A quick look at he figure’s hands and the built in led lighting.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (40)
The palm guard also has a built in weapon inside that until now I can’t figure out how to deploy.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (41)
Its not fully deployed yet. Need to read the manual more lols.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (42)
Shoulders have also a weapon hidden inside. I think these are also anti personnel missiles.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (43)
Just move the shoulder plate down, then pull the weapon out.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (44)
I actually haven’t pulled it out here since my fingers won’t fit inside lols.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (45)
The figure has a lighting feature using LED lights. The eyes, the chest, and the palms have secret switches to turn the lights on.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (46)
LED lighting on the repulsors.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (47)
LED lighting on the eyes.
Hot Toys: Ironman Mark VI (48)
Batteries on the eyes are a bit weak. Need to buy new batteries. Figure uses AG1 batteries for the LEDs. Its the circle batteries we see on watches to those who are not familiar.
