Review | GSC: Black Rock Shooter: Animation Version

Hi there comrades! B-) I recently posted about my newly acquired figures last time for the month of February. Unfortunately, I hadn’t had the chance to do a full photo review of those figures because I was bogged down with work for the past 4 days :( (life can go crazy sometimes T_T). Luckily, I managed to do an in-depth photo review today of BRS (Black Rock Shooter) Animation Version. I haven’t watched the anime yet so story-wise, I really don’t have any clues about the characters.

Black Rock Shooter (ブラック★ロックシューター, Burakku Rokku Shūtā?) is a 2010 Japanese original video animation produced by Yutaka Yamamoto’s studio Ordet and directed by Shinobu Yoshioka. The 50-minute OVA is based on the song of the same name by Supercell and its accompanying music video with illustrations by Huke. Musical composer Ryo and Huke, both members of Supercell, collaborated on the project. A “Pilot Edition” of the anime was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in September 2009, and the full version was released on DVDs bundled with select magazines from July 24, 2010 and is subtitled in seven languages.

Her pose is pretty dramatic!

Really don’t have a clue why her left eye is burning like that… Need to watch the anime.

Black Rock Shooter: Animation Version

Yeah yeah… She’s just a kid, so no boobies you perverts!

Love the jacket details, creases, specially the zipper detail :)

One of the things I love in this figure is its diorama base.

At first glance, base really looks like real concrete. Just look at those details.

Would you believe that the chains are also made up of PVC?

The Rock Cannon which can fire 20 shots per second.

Micro details are fantastic.

The swirl of chains really adds up to the overall dynamicity of the figure.

Kaboom!

Overall paintwork is just outstanding.

I wonder what those scars are for? Really need to watch the anime…

Obviously one of the best figures I have.

I’m now waiting for the release of Dead Master this month followed by Black Gold Saw this coming June. \m/

See ya on my next Figure Review! :D
