Review | Alphamax:
Takatsuki Ichika (Swimsuit Ver.)

Oh my… It’s been like half a year since my last figure review / figure photography post > < Work has been crazy for me but in a good way. Been soooo busy I wasn’t able to update my figure review library for a loooong time and I’m really sorry for that specially to those people who supports this site (thank you very much!) But at long last, I finally found some time to do a quick figure shoot of one of my figures. I’m so busy I didn’t even have the time to setup my “mini studio” where I usually shoot! So what I did is I improvised a bit and transformed my work desk into a photography stage for this review – and it kinda works!

“She’s one of my favorite “desk figures” because of her overall looks and space friendly pose…”

So yeah, the character that will take our center stage is none other than the very popular Takatsuki Ichika from the also popular anime series, Waiting in the Summer (あの夏で待ってる Ano Natsu de Matteru, lit. Waiting in That Summer). Got this figure for quite some time and was originally released January 2013 by the super talented guys at Alphamax. She’s one of my favorite “desk figures” because of her overall looks and space friendly pose – she’s actually staring at me right now :3

“…and that’s one of Alphamax’s strong points – which is making pretty characters even more prettier.”

As for the figure – it looks great and you can definitely see it on the images below. Ichika Takatsuki looks really sexy and beautiful in this rendition and that’s one of Alphamax’s strong points – which is making pretty characters even more prettier. She comes with a detachable eye glasses so you can display her with or without it – and nope, she’s not cast-offable :P Both overall sculpt and paint job are top notch and trust me, you won’t go wrong with manufacturers like Alphamax. So yeah, got nothing more to say about this very awesome figure. I’ll leave you guys and continue working on this prototype I’m working on for National Geographic ;) Enjoy the pictures! And like always, you are free to discuss it on the comments section below. Happy weekends!

Character Info

The female protagonist is an alien whose ship accidentally crash-lands on Earth, thus causing Kaito to sustain fatal injuries. Since her bodily cells consist of the nanomachines the capacity of which is medical treatment, she saves him by transferring her cells to him through kissing and initially remains with him in order to be certain that he is in condition. Being an alien unaccustomed to life on Earth, her actions may seem weird in the eyes of others, but she is quick to correct herself if only to hide the fact that she is an alien. She was aware of Kaito's feelings, but had yet to respond with her own. She is kind, polite, friendly and an odd cook (because of her bizarre, yet still edible food combination choices). Like her best friend, Remon Yamano, she is a third-year student in Kaito's high school. Ichika later revealed herself that she is alien to Kaito and her friends, but it didn't bother them at all, especially Kaito who had a thought she was from outer space. With Kanna's help and influence, she confessed to Kaito and began dating him. Ichika said that she would continue loving Kaito, even after she left. At the end of the series, Ichika is shown in the final scene of the completed film, revealing that she was able to return to Earth again.

Wow, she looks awesome! You’re right, the detail and finish on her is great. After seeing the figure and watching the intro movie I want to watch the series now haha. This is beside the point, but what mm, f-stop, and ISO are you using to shoot your photos with?!

    • Otakumouse | Fri, 2015/01/16 at 2:44 PM

Thank you sir! I’m using a 50mm 1.4 lens ;) ISO is 1000, F-stop at 3-4. For shots that I want some intense DOF, I shoot it at 1.4 ;)

Got something to say?
